She put two small copper coins into the treasury … AND THE HEAVENS AROUND HER SHIFTED!! The tormenting demons screamed in fury. Their schemes falling apart and disentangling. They watched Him over in the corner with two of His disciples. He had been watching the rich put their gifts in. His eyes searched the crowds and saw her coming down on the way, weighted down from the discouragement of the past few days. She only had one hope. She’d been here before. Hope had turned to discouragement, lack and poverty attempting to take her down. Yes, she’d been here before. But she had heard … the scriptures were so clear. And today the scriptures were permeating everything within her. A clarity of mind and faith. She had walked over to the well-worn cupboard and picked up the old jar of clay. She shook the contents into her trembling palms. With every ounce of courage within her, she chose to believe. ‘A true sacrificial offering is seen by a Holy God’. This was not just a tithe. Poverty had overtaken her.
‘It was all that she had to live on’.
Would Almighty God take notice? Would He see that she was coming and trusting Him with everything within her?? He was all she had left. As she looked around her, she saw the rich bringing their large gifts… Big smiles on their faces as they stretched their hands to drop the bags into the treasury. All their friends watching from the outskirts of the crowd. And who was she to even think that God could care or give notice to her and her two small coins? But the Word said …. ‘Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse so that There may be food in my house, and test me now in this’, says the Lord of hosts, ‘if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows. Then I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it may not destroy the fruits of the ground’, says the Lord of hosts.
Last week, the Prophet, the One who calls Himself Jesus, He said those words, “Give, and it will be given to you; Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, they will pour into your lap. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.” Those words Would not leave her mind. They Permeated every thought as she had attempted to go about her day. This seemed like living water in the midst of her parched dry days. But that Prophet spoke them and she clung to those words and believed them. Right now, only two more steps … it was all she had to live on. A choice… She let them quietly leave the palm of her hand. Then she turned to leave, stepping quietly so as to disturb no one around her. As she quietly backed away, He said, “Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all of them; for they, out of their surplus put into the offering, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had to live on.”
He sees the intentions of the heart of a man/woman.
A sacrificial gift given unto the Lord, for He is holy
He is Holy and His Word is Truth
